Founded in 1999, Studio Frank Havermans develops strategic interventions, both on commission and on his own initiative. The work arises from a combination of the social aspect of architecture and urban dynamics with a fascination for the design mechanics of constructions, gravity and tactile things.

His work literally redefines recognisable public space. He uses modules to set up transitional spaces consisting of experimental constructions. Taking on a rational appearance, the constructions are aware of latent mechanical intentions and serve a strategic purpose, in terms of both space and society, in the context where they are built. The interventions invite viewers to experience the space in alternative way, and challenge the identity and use of a specific location.

Studio Frank Havermans speaks a design language that is situated between archaism and futurism, lending his work a striking appeal.
