Anne Geene

Anne Geene lives and works in The Hague. She started her photographic studies at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, and graduated at St. Joost Academy in Breda. She went on to complete a Master programme in Photographic Studies at Leiden University. Her graduation project Perceel 235 / Encyclopedie van een volkstuin was chosen as best photo book of 2010 by national newspaper NRC, and purchased by the Nederlands Fotomuseum. In 2014, she won the ING UNSEEN Talent Award, and in 2018, she won the Volkskrant Beeldende Kunst Prijs. The book Ornithology she made with Arjan de Nooy was awarded the “Goldene Letter” in Leipzig, a prize for the Best Book Design From All Over the World. Her work has been selected to grace various national and international exhibitions and collections.
