Fast fashion is not found in the Holy Triangle. The norm has always been frugality and recycling. From the little textile waste – cut-up clothes, sheets and tablecloths – of the radically recycling sisters, artist and atheist Bronwen Jones conjured new pieces with needle and thread and natural dyes.
These will be presented alongside repair work by the sisters – such as endlessly tucked socks – and other clothing repurposed by Bronwen Jones, during the h3h biennial. Clothing repair fits into a life of respect for resources and labor. Poverty may be another motivation. The artist excels at “visible mending. Clothing is mended in a visible, almost celebratory way.
Visitors who bring their garments or other textiles to be mended can learn how to give them a second life in drop-in workshops.
