Özgur Kar aptly and often humorously manages to bring la condition humaine to life. In his black-and-white animations, steeped in silences, a figure performs an inner monologue about existence. Often this figure fills the entire LCD screen and seems to be trapped within it at the same time. Within this digital bubble, the loneliness that an online life can cause becomes palpable – a world where connection and isolation merge seamlessly.
