Jenna Kaës comes from an Alsatian family of artisans, from a French region known for its highly specialised crafts. A product designer with a fascination for the mystical, she creates objects that support you in moments when life falls short or, on the contrary, is intensely present. She gives form to what is difficult to grasp, to moments that often remain elusive.
Her designs range from urns and shrouds to evil repelling rings and the Columbarium for the Bordeaux cemetery. Inspired by ancient traditions such as ‘pleurants’ (weeping figures), she gives them her own contemporary interpretation. Her versatility ranges from stained glass and stained glass to glassblowing, wood and metalwork and aluminium casting. In her work, modern technology and ancient craftsmanship flow effortlessly together, making her designs both timeless and innovative.
