Pier Sparta creates a sculpture with a biblical feel. A monastic procession treks to an unknown destination, led by a figure with a halo. The cart full of branches from the monastery garden represents renewal and change of season, and the wheels show moon and sun.

Pier Sparta, who often depicts people living close to nature, now focuses on the shepherd as the guide of a community, a role he also sees in his artistry. He believes in the power of objects and the presence of spirits, which is reflected in this sculpture. For Le Berger des Âmes, he drew inspiration from conversations with nuns, liturgical times and the stained-glass windows of the convent, giving the work a deep connection to the place.
